Top Twitter executives, including the CEO Parag Agarwal, are fired by Elon Musk

Elon Musk has taken control of Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) with harsh efficiency, sacking key executives while offering little explanation of how he plans to realise the goals he has set forth for the significant social media network.

He tweeted “The bird is liberated” after completing his $44 billion acquisition on Thursday, making obvious reference to his wish to see Twitter loosen its restrictions on what can be written.
Elon Musk took control of Twitter Inc. on Thursday, removing key executives and providing little information about how he will carry out the grandiose objectives he has announced for the important social media network.

Tesla’s CEO has stated that, while limiting censorship, he also wants to “fight” spam bots on Twitter, make the algorithms that decide how information is exposed to users public, and prevent the social media platform from becoming a haven for hate and division.

Although Musk dismissed Agrawal, their relationship did not always have such a difficult beginning, at least in the eyes of the public. Agrawal congratulated Musk when he acquired the majority of Twitter back in April. That tweet is still prominently displayed on his profile, in fact.

With the $44 billion purchase, a remarkable tale that took many unexpected turns comes to an end, leaving some to wonder whether Mr. Musk would actually complete the transaction. It all began on April 4, when Mr. Musk disclosed that he held the largest share in the San Francisco-based company, at 9.2%.

The fact that Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who was previously suspended from Twitter for engaging in violent and vile behaviour, praised Musk’s takeover of Instagram and posted fan demands for her account to be restored, demonstrates the difficulties that still need to be overcome.

Trump was banned from the platform after the attack on the US Capitol, but Musk indicated in May that he would lift the restriction. However, Trump has since stated that he will not return to the site. He instead unveiled Truth Social, his personal social networking service.
