Land for jobs scam has taken a serious form in the past few days. CBI had summoned Tejashwi Yadav, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar in this scam. Yadav skipped appearing before CBI every time. Finally, he appeared in the Delhi High Court and challenged the summons made by the CBI.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has made a plea which is to be heard tomorrow in front of Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma. Until now, the Central Bureau of Investigation has issued 3 notices to Tejashwi Yadav to appear for the questioning session. The notices were issued on February 28, March 4, and March 11.
What is the case about?
Land of jobs scam occurred far back during the rule of former Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. During this time, many appointments were made in the Railway field by exchanging land in the name of Yadav’s family.
According to the case of CBI, the appointments were made against the guidelines of Indian Railways. A few months back, the CBI also filed a charge sheet against 16 people with names like Rabri Devi and her daughter.
Yadav’s allegations
Tejashwi Yadav’s argument on the CBI’s notices continues today. He also alleged that CBI purposely sent the notices to harass him.
Yadav further said he is basically from Patna. Despite being a resident of Patna, he is being called to appear in Delhi High court for the questioning session. The plea of Yadav includes the nullifying the three notices by CBI.
Now, Tejashwi Yadav will be questioned either at his home or by video-conferencing. He has been granted bail by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court.
