Himachal issues a ‘character certificate’ order for journalists covering the Prime Minister’s event, then withdraws it.

After his last rally in the state, scheduled for September 24 in Mandi, was canceled due to bad weather, all eyes are on the prime minister’s visit tomorrow.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a gathering in Himachal’s Bilaspur on October 5 and will also attend the Kullu Dussehra celebrations.

Very big news about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, is surrounded by controversies. That is, whatever reporter or media personnel will participate in that rally, it will be necessary to bring their character certificate, this news was not liked by the media and journalists at all and there was a protest against it in the general public.

It is not that the Prime Minister is visiting Himachal Pradesh for the first time, even before this, the Prime Minister has come to Himachal Pradesh many times and there has not been any kind of riots or battles there, so making such an order is acceptable. was not worth it.

So the irony is that the news reporter and journalists demanded a character certificate, but any other type of character certificate from the other citizens attending the rally or the general public, whoever would attend that rally, would be their favourite. If the demand was not made, then it was a matter of great controversy.

For access and security passes to cover Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s day-long visit to Himachal Pradesh tomorrow, all journalists have been asked to produce a character certificate. After his last rally in the state, scheduled for September 24 in Mandi, was canceled due to bad weather, all eyes are on the prime minister’s visit tomorrow.

In an official public notice on 29 September, the District Public Relations Officer was ordered to submit a list of all the correspondent photographers, videographers, and team members of All India Radio and their character certificates to the office by October 1.

After this order was taken by the Himachal administration, all the media personnel were very angry, due to which they strongly opposed it, and given their protest, this order was withdrawn on 4 October and now any media personnel in Himachal Pradesh on 5 October. There is no need to bring a character certificate when I come to cover Modi’s rally and he is warmly welcomed by Himachal and sorry for any inconvenience caused by the Himachal administration.
