Another biopic starring Kangana Ranaut is in the works. After playing former prime minister Indira Gandhi in Emergency, she will soon be seen as Noti Binodini, a well-known theatre figure from Bengal.
After Thalaivii (J Jayalalithaa), Emergency, and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, this is Kangana’s fourth movie in which she portrays a real-life person (Indira Gandhi).

Career Spanning
In Kolkata, Binodini Dasi was born into a family of sex workers before becoming Bengal’s most well-known actress in the 19th century. Binodini, also known as Noti Binodini, has had a career spanning more than 12 years and has performed over 80 characters, including Sita, Draupadi, Radha, Kaikeyi, and Motibibi, among others.
She is also known for being one of the first South Asian theatre performers to write and publish an autobiography.
Among the various characters that Binodini has played are Pramila, Sita, Draupadi, Radha, Ayesha, Kaikeyi, Motibibi, and Kapalkundala. One of the earliest South Asian theatre actors to write an autobiography was she.
About Movie
A movie about Binodini is also being made by filmmaker Ram Kamal Mujherjee. Rukmini Moitra will play the title character in the movie, Binodiini Ekti Natir Upakhyan.
Emergency, which Kangana is also directing and in which she also plays the lead, is now in production. In addition to these, Kangana has Tejas in development, in which she would portray an air force pilot.
The film’s director is Parineeta and Mardani veteran Pradeep Sarkar. The script was written by Prakash Kapadia (Devdas, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior).
Kangana is currently working on her directorial debut, Emergency, in which she also stars as the main character. She portrays the late Congress leader Indira Gandhi, India’s first female prime minister.
In addition to these, Kangana is working on Tejas. In the movie, she will play an air force pilot.
